This course can be completed as an government funded apprenticeship, through Cavity Training.
You must have a minimum of Grade C/Level 4 or above in Math & English. There is an opportunity to gain a Level 2 Functional Skill Qualification alongside your apprenticeship if needed.
Our candidates are trained to the highest standards and are fully supported to develop al the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be an Operational or Departmental Manager. The course duration is typically 24 – 36 months.
Our course is delivered via live training webinars with specialist tutors.
You will be appointed a designated Learning & Skills Teacher, who will coach you through your qualification and complete regular assessments with you to support you in completing your qualification. You will have weekly contact with your tutor.

Those who are typically involved in delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include Operations manager, Regional manager, Divisional manager, Department manager and Specialist manager.
ST0385 – Operations or Departmental Manager
This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and a career as an Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager or Specialist Manager. The content covers all essential areas With a focus on Managing teams and projects in line with a private, public or voluntary organisation’s operational or departmental strategy as mapped out to the Institute of Apprenticeships standards.
It’s a work-based program combining on-the-job training with classroom learning, equipping you with skills to achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives, working across different teams and projects across an organisation.
This qualification allows candidates to go on to develop key skills and behaviours to support their progression towards management responsibilities and progress to higher level management & training courses and expand their management career.
On completion, apprentices can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management, and those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI.
Managing teams and projects in line with a private, public or voluntary organisation’s operational or departmental strategy.
To be able to create and deliver operational plans, manage projects, lead and manage teams and change, as well as financial and resource management the learner will gain skills in talent management, coaching and mentoring.
This qualification is equivalent to a foundation degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND).

I am a very experienced Assessor Coach in various standards. I hold an A1 Assessors Award, Moderators Award and V1 Verifiers Award as well as my Certificate in Higher Education.
My passion is coaching management from delivering Level 5 and Level 3 Team Leader & Supervisor courses, including Women in Leadership.
In my spare time I enjoy travelling, listening to music, dancing, reading and socialising with friends but my biggest passion is food, be it eating food, watching food being cooked, planning food I’m going to eat – I love it. I am obsessed with ‘Masterchef’ and love to watch it with a mini cheese board.
I am friendly and outgoing and love to help to support people to succeed.
