The Certificate in Oral Health Education is a level 4 post-registration qualification awarded by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEEDN). This course is designed to provide Dental Nurses with the educational experience, including the knowledge, critical understanding, intellectual skills, practical skills, and personal attitude to enable them to provide effective oral health education for dental patients.

How long is the course?
The course duration is 9 months.
What is the study method?
Our Course is delivered via live training webinars with specialist dental nurse tutors. Lessons are for 2 hours 1 evening per week for the first 4 months, and drop-in support sessions every 2 weeks until ROC completion.
Is there an exam at the end?
Yes, there is a 90-minute written examination composed of two sections:
- Part A- 45 multiple choice questions (MCQ)
- Part B- 30 extended matching questions (EMT)
Examinations are held twice a year in March and September.

Lauren Dawes
As a Curriculum Lead teaching the City & Guilds Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing. I am a fully qualified and experienced dental nurse with over 13 years’ experience working in mixed NHS and Private dental clinics. Not only do I teach trainee dental nurses the knowledge and skills they need to become competent in their role, but I am also trained in oral health education and have previously run my own oral health education sessions where I educated patients on how to care for their mouths and prevent dental disease.
I have also completed the certificate in Dental Radiography as well as this I am qualified to apply topical fluoride on prescription from a dentist.
This experience has allowed me to develop and enhance these exceptional Courses in Oral Health Education for Cavity Dental Training.
