Everybody experiences Anxiety at some time. It is a feeling of fear, worry or unease. It can vary is severity from mild to a panic attack. It can last for a few moments to many years.
Feeling anxious is the body’s response in helping us to avoid dangerous situations and helps solve everyday problems – therefore feeling anxious is a perfectly natural reaction to some situations
Research by the Mental Health Foundation in 2023 found nearly all young people (18 to 24 years) in our research (86%) had felt anxious in the previous two weeks. For over half (58%), this had stopped them undertaking day-to-day activities
Anxiety can present for many different reasons. The Health & Wellbeing team at Cavity Dental Staff focused on five areas of Anxiety and created five information / support resources

Mind note that - Anxiety can become a mental health problem if it impacts your ability to live your life as fully as you want to.
For example, it may be a problem if:
- Your feelings of anxiety are very strong or last for a long time.
- You avoid situations that might cause you to feel anxious.
- Your worries feel very distressing or are hard to control.
- You regularly experience symptoms of anxiety, which could include panic attacks
- You find it hard to go about your everyday life or do things you enjoy.
