A total estimate of 2.6million people in the UK have ADHD (708,000 children, 1,9m adults).

The ADHD brain is low on a neurotransmitter called norepinephrine, which can affect your mood and ability to concentrate.

ADHD is now recognised one of the most diagnosed mental health disorders in children.

There are many symptoms linked to ADHD. Inattentive symptoms include losing or misplacing things, struggling with organisation and staying focused on long tasks, becoming easily distracted. Hyperactive symptoms include being energetic and very active, fidgety and restless. Struggling with quiet tasks, being talkative and impulsive.

Trouble controlling anger, frustration and mood swings are also symptoms, these symptoms alongside those noted in the above paragraph can have a negative impact on working and personal relationships, therefore having appropriate levels of support in place is essential.

Our links are here to provide information and support, should you be working through an ADHD diagnosis yourself, have received a diagnosis of ADHD or are supporting someone with ADHD. You may just be looking to increase your knowledge and understand ADHD in a bit more detail.
